Words Associated With Love, Sex, and Relationships

I wrote this hub in an attempt to explore words associated with love, sex, and relationships and round them up in this hub with their meanings. I know that there are some words here that some of you may have never hear of before. Some them are obvious but others are strange.

Different Types of Love

Lets start with the obvious word „love,“ we all know this one. It means „an intense feeling of tender affection and compassion, a passionate feeling of romantic desire and sexual attraction.“ On the flip side some people are said to be lovelorn or lovesick because they often have trouble expressing themselves when it comes to love. Most people that experience this often receive unrequited love and unfortunately, over time they become loveless.

At the other extreme there are those who are amorous, they are strongly moved by love, especially sexual love. Sometimes the feeling for someone can be so strong a person can become enamored or show intense love to someone. The word „amor“ in there comes from the French word „amour“ meaning love. Finally on that word „amor“ if you are having a secret affair with someone you are having an amour and the person that you are having the affair with is called an amour, a fancy way of saying a lover. If you are in love with more than one person at the same time you are considered to be a polyamorist. One other thing, if you have ever heard the words „love apple“ and wonder what that is; you will not believe this. It is another name for a tomato.

Different Types of Relationships

You can write an entire book on this one by just talking about the words associated with the various types of relationships. The basic one is a „couple“ and this can be broken down into various types of couples. This is the typical one, man and woman, married or unmarried. Sometime unmarried couples live together under a mutual agreement and the spouses are called common-law husband or wife. Then there are the „gay couples“, and „lesbian couples.“ Gay in its modern sense typically refers to men (lesbian being the standard term for homosexual women), but in some contexts it can be used for both men and women. Finally, there is one marriage that take place where the women will run away from her husband to marry another man. This action is called elope. It also means to run away secretly to get marry without parental consent.

Same sex relationship Then there are people where one spouse is not enough for them. These men prefer to be married, sometimes by customs, to more than one woman at the same. This type of marriage is called polygamy. In some cultures men are allowed to marry as many women as they can afford. Some of the countries where polygamy is legal are Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Uganda, Mali, and India just to name a few. In its simplest form when a married man or woman try to go through the act of another marriage ceremony to marry another person they are committing bigamy. If a woman wants to be married to many men at the same time this type of marriage is called polyandry. I do not think that there are too many cases of a woman married to more than one man. This type of marriage probably would not work from a man’s perspective. Fortunately, the vast majority of married couples and people in committed relationships are monogamous because if that was not the case there would be a higher incident of sexually transmitted diseases. The incident of AIDS would be rampant as we already see in some poor countries that do not have effective birth controls in place. There is one more term describing relationships, a relative new term called, hypergamy, where someone seeks a spouse of equal or higher socioeconomic status than themselves.

Sex

We all know sex is obviously the main reason we develop relationships with the opposite gender and sometimes with the same gender. Their sexuality defines who they are attracted to for intimacy.Typically, people are attracted to the opposite gender and are considered to be heterosexual, and on the other hand if you are attracted to the same gender as yourself then you are considered to be a homosexual person. When someone is attracted to both genders they are considered be exhibiting bisexual tendencies.

Believe it or not there are some people who do not experience any sexual attraction. These people are labeled as asexual. Another behavior tendency that people exhibit sometimes is pomosexual, which means these people avoid sexual orientation labels such as heterosexual and homosexual.

Now there is cybersex A relatively new term, metrosexual, is used to describe single, young men with a high disposable income, living or working in the city. These men typically have a strong concern for their appearance. They usually display behavior associated with narcissism or self-love.

Ménage à trios is a word we often hear a lot. This is a French word describing a domestic arrangement in which three people having sexual relations at the same house. The word translates to „household of three.“ This arrangement in most cases is simply called a „threesome“ since a lot of people do not know the equivalent French word and if you add one more person to the group then it called an orgy.

Now there is cybersex where you do not have any physical contact with person other than through the computers and the internet. Transgender is the word we been hearing a lot lately in the social media even though this type of sexual identity have been around awhile; people are not afraid any longer to express their real feelings publicly. Relationships are really becoming complicated now.

Cougar – a woman over 40 who sexually purses younger men.

Cub – a younger male who are dating an older woman.

Jailbait – a sexually attractive female who is below the legal age of consent.

Manther – a man over 40 who sexually pursues younger women.

Puma – a twenty or thirty something woman who pursues younger men.

Arctic Fox – a post-menopausal woman who pursues younger men.

Sugar Baby – a young woman who provide sexual favors and companionship to older, rich men for nadia ali xxx money.

Sugar Daddy – an older, rich man who give gifts and money to a young woman for sexual favors and companionship.

Boy Toy – a young man dating an older woman.

As you can see, love, sex, and relationship is really a complicated triangle of activities that is constantly changing and evolving. It is not easy not an easy to keep in control sometimes.
