How to make a simple math equation on my website using JavaScript?

I am trying to make a simple website that will tell the distance between you and a point. The equation for this is :
Distance = Math.pow(x2 – x1, 2) + (y2 – y1) / Math.cos(angle);

In the HTML I use the tag to get the values and send it to a JavaScript function.

The problem is I have no idea how to put this equation in the JavaScript function. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
