How does it work?

When drawing in AutoCAD, you work on an active drawing. All objects are automatically arranged on the canvas, with dimensions added for axes and reference lines. If you delete a line or a reference line, you must replace them with new ones to maintain the integrity of your design.
To begin, you open a new drawing by pressing File. The next step is to open a new drawing, and you can either choose to create a new file or open an existing file.
The Tool Palette is a bar on the left side of the screen that is used to control many AutoCAD commands, such as selecting objects, creating other objects, and more.

AutoCAD drawing files may contain:
A standard drawing file, in which each block of drawing content is named with a DWG extension. An instance of a block is a drawing element. Drawing elements may be blocks, symbols, text, paths, lines, splines, rays, text elements, region elements, dash, fills, or surfaces.
A standard property sheet file, in which each property setting is named with a PSX extension. A property sheet is an instance of a property, which is a grouping of settings for one or more drawing elements. Property sheets have names, which consist of a keyword (such as „General“) and a drawing element name (such as „Objects“) followed by a period and the extension of that drawing element (such as „.OBJ“ for an object instance).
A block definition file, in which each block is named with a BLD extension. A block definition is a standard property sheet file that describes the block (which is an instance of a block class) and any drawings (which are instances of a block class) that are to be associated with that block.
A drawing file, in which each drawing element is named with a DXF extension.
A database file, which is simply a text file with no drawing elements.
Block and drawing elements are defined as classes. Classes are written in C++ and contain several methods, such as GetCurrentPen and SetCurrentPen. Each class is defined by a file with a.h extension. Classes are not true classes, but have a combination of public and private parts that provide a uniform interface for data members. Classes are used as a way of defining drawing elements.
Tools
AutoCAD offers two GUI design tools:
Viewports. A viewport is a working area on the screen where a drawing is displayed. It includes tools for drawing, text, block selecting and measuring. Each viewport includes a 4×4 Grid that can be used to specify scale and zoom. Viewports and blocks are used together to create a drawing. The size of the viewports is determined by the width and height of the file.
Annotations. An annotation is a feature that allows for comments and instructions to be placed in the drawing. Annotations can be written to a separate file with an XDAF extension. Click on “open new project”, choose a username and password, and click ok.
Click on the blue workspace icon in the left of the screen. This opens a new workspace with the most important feature – the open document.
Open the g-code file
To open the g-code, select “file” and click on “open.”.
Open your “new” project
Now that you have the g-code in your editor, you can open the “new” project you created.
Open the AutoCAD.DWG file
Select “file” and click on “open” to open the AutoCAD file.
Import the file
When the file opens, click on the triangle button in the top right corner of the screen.
This will open the add-ins that are being used to import the file.
Select the “graphics” tab.
Choose “add images” and “add path”.
Click on “add path” and choose a folder.
Navigate to the folder on your computer that you saved the g-code file in.
You will see the file in the AutoCAD file.
When you are done importing, select the “file” tab in the ribbon and click on “save”.

Once you are done with the g-code file, save it as a file.
Choose the “File” tab.
Click on “Save”.
Select “Create New” under “Save in”.
Select “graphics” under “Save type”.
Choose a file name and save the file.

This opens the open file in your “new” project.
Click on the “home” tab.
Click on the “new” button and choose a name for your model.
