6.1.1 AutoCAD LT

This section describes AutoCAD LT, the entry-level and student version of AutoCAD, and outlines the new features added in 2009 and 2011. Read the AutoCAD LT User Guide for a detailed description of the features available in AutoCAD LT.

AutoCAD LT is a subset of AutoCAD that provides basic 2D drawing functionality, including the ability to edit drawing objects and properties (e.g. color, linetype, line width, etc.), and to annotate drawings (also called digital drafting). It is designed for teaching and experimenting with AutoCAD and its features, but not for production purposes. AutoCAD LT differs from AutoCAD in that it does not include the ability to use 3D geometry, coordinate transformations, or any 3D modeling features.

Structured applications

As of AutoCAD 2000 there were two basic models for developing structured applications:

AutoCAD-based: Based on a 3-D Java application programming interface (API) and the AutoCAD drawing data model. Two such applications were MathCAD and DGNView.
COM-based: Based on a Microsoft COM-based API, for example the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) or Microsoft Component Object Model (COM).

According to the CADalyst, AutoCAD’s structured applications share the same development model, and that DGNView was the first CAD application to offer Structured Application Development (SAD). In recent years, third-party products and libraries such as Excel (Access), XPS Essentials (OpenXPS) have become available to format and generate COM-based structured applications.

GUI

In the 1990s, a large portion of development on AutoCAD was done using Borland’s Turbo Pascal language to produce Borland Delphi add-on products. Turbo Pascal provides a suitable development environment for those new to programming and is fairly easy to use. The Pascal/Delphi language is based on a block structure of code (similar to the way in which blocks are structured in AutoCAD).

The first generation of built-in, fully featured applications were written in Pascal and the first add-on product was VB-5. Later, additions in this „Pascal-based“ paradigm include the Xpedition product, which includes a VB front-end; and PowerXpress, which adds tools written in Visual Basic or Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to the Windows 3.x graphical user interface (GUI) using the Microsoft Windows API. With the Xpedition product, users could program AutoCAD for the first time. The only requirement to develop in this system is that the user is familiar with programming. In these products, the user interface, developed using Visual Basic, is programmed into a regular document.

In the late 1990s, more sophisticated GUIs were written with JBuilder. Although based on Turbo Pascal, JBuilder was written in Java, so there was a complete migration path from Turbo Pascal to JBuilder for a new developer. In addition to adding the GUI, JBuilder allowed an application to be written in a separate language to the main AutoCAD program. This separate language is called JAVA (Java Application in AutoCAD) and is used to develop a

In the application, open the Autodesk keygen

For the Windows version (32 bits), you need to use the Windows 32-bit version of the keygen.

For the Linux version (64 bits), you need to use the Linux version of the keygen.

Generate the keys
Run the key generator.

There will be two windows: the first one is the property wizard. For this application you can only use properties from Autocad that are already known to you or you already know to work. There are three tabs to choose:

1st tab: User
2nd tab: Package
3rd tab: License
In the User tab, you have to choose the User name, and the Password. You can leave the Description empty, the Username auto fill the User name. Then you have to choose the password and the the user name (username).

Once you have finished the wizard, you will get the license key.

For the linux version, there is a difference between 32 bits and 64 bits. For 32 bits, this is pretty simple, but for 64 bits, you need to use the 64-bits license key.

How to import the keys
For Linux, you need to launch the license manager tool. Run the following command line:
sudo apt-get install licgear
licgear
Follow the menu to import the license

For Windows, you need to run “Autocad License Manager”

At the first step, it will ask you to input the password of the Autocad application that you want to activate. At the end of the license importation, it will ask you if you want to activate the Autocad application. If you want to activate it, simply click on “yes”.

Activate the Autocad application
After the installation is finished, we can launch the application. Go to “File -> Import -> License key”

If you do not have Autocad yet, you need to open the Autocad Activator. It will ask you for the key and the user name, the description is automatically filled by the user name (username).

Once the activation is finished, you can run the application.
