There are different timeframes for what is worth keeping and you can change these by clicking on the settings tab.

CacheMyWork is a lightweight application that was created to help you reboot your PC without fearing you won't be able to resume your work.
From the moment you open it builds a list a checklist of all currently open applications, you check whichever you want to have their progress saved, and the next time you boot your workstation (forcefully or not), they will open automatically.
CacheMyWork is excellent for times when you need to perform an unexpected reboot, such as after installing software that requires one to complete the setup process, or because of a system freeze, crash, or sudden power outage.
The app was specially designed to be used even if there is no danger of any unexpected reboot, and you are just not good at remembering the stuff you were doing before you logged out.
It also helps avoid, in an indirect manner, visual clutter since there is no longer need to keep all application windows opened and maximized at the same time to remember which one was open and when.

Small and nifty but can get a little annoying. For example, when you are using outlook it sometimes just quits and the whole thing crashes.
Also sometimes when I close a program it does not appear on the list of programs to resume.

I found the app very useful, though I ended up changing it a lot from the original design. The application now has two different modes. When it runs in "Save" mode, it does not open any applications. It will be great if it could somehow have the ability to open the last apps on a certain desktop and have them remain in focus instead of my current desktop. I also think it would be nice to have a dropdown menu where one can select the app that
