Decimort 2 is a soft-clipping resampler. The project was an attempt to create the first real-time jitter on any computer. The project is a software project that contains a plain.NET wrapper around an C++ resampler. The project is still actively maintained, and can be downloaded for free. After you have downloaded the project, you will need to install the “Retroware” framework. This is pretty simple. Instructions can be found on the Retroware website. At its heart, the RetroWare framework uses parts of the C# Interop Toolkit. It can therefore be used within Visual Studio and other.NET development programs, or can be used to create stand alone EXE Windows Applications.

Decimort2 Features:

Retro Sonic – This is the main function of the plugin, but is designed to have a relaxed overall sound. The Retro Sonic function is based off of the Saturation function within QMp. Every parameter for Retro Sonic is based on the Saturation – Ch1/2 values. Retro Sonic is the largest parameter, however, all of the related parameters work together.
There are currently 8 presets, but can be changed in the “Retroware” settings. There are a total of 28 possible settings for the Retro Sonic function, ranging from no distortion to an extremely aggressive distortion. There is an option to also “Suck” the signal through an acoustic tube.
The Retro Sonic function is based off of the “SatSat” setting. With this function, you can have the most negative potential distortion settings yet still retain some clarity. By the way, this actually works out well for some electronic music genres.

Punch – This function is used to get a more aggressive sound. With this function, you can tell the plugin to generate an invert signal.

Colosseum – This function is used to generate a sound that is very loud. Use the Colosseum function for the effect that the music has at the start of the song.

Fuzz – This function is used to achieve the incredibly low pitched, yet extremely full sound.

Chorus – This function uses three parameters; Ch1, Ch2, and Flutter, to achieve the Chorus effect.
