Democracy is not a given. It is not a right to be self-evident in all its implications.
It is not a static or a closed system. It is constantly open to change.
Democracy is a constant process of development.

In the course of that development, a common set of norms and values that have been adopted by society as a whole can be stated. One of these values is respect for the rights of persons and the right to self-determination.

This app is divided in three main elements:

The **History of Democracy -** is a timeline of important events that led to the development of democracy.
Each timeline page consists of several elements and has a state icon and text that highlights the selected state:

* **text that shows a chronological order of events**
* **state icon** – depending on the selected country, either a flag or state symbol.

These elements appear on different rows that are selected by the user.
They are arranged chronologically and can be sorted.

The second element of the application is the **Library**.
You can search and select specific topics (which are based on Wikipedia).
There are two topics:

* **democracy**
* **democracy and freedom**

The third element of the application is the **Video**.
Here, you can read and view short videos that address a particular topic.
